Children’s Ministry

Here at Southwestern Baptist, children and families are very important to us!  We believe our role in your child’s life is a partnership with families exemplifying what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.  We strive to provide a safe and fun environment for our children to grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus!

What programs are available for my child?

Sunday Morning

On Sunday mornings, we provide the following programs to children:

9:30am: Sunday School (Infants – 6th grade)

10:45am: Morning Worship

Kids dismiss during the service (usually after the offertory or special music) and meet in the Kid’s Wing in the first classroom to the right for the remainder of the service. Parents are asked to pick up their children at the end of the service.

  • Nursery (Infants – 3 year olds)
  • Mission Friends (3 year olds – Kindergarten)
  • Explorers (1st – 6th grade)

Frequently Asked Questions

The best entrance for visitors with children is located under the burgundy awning (to the right of the church). Directly through this door is the Kid’s Ministry Welcome Center. Hosts will gladly direct you to the Children’s areas.
We ask our teachers to be in their classrooms at least 15 minutes before a program begins (either on Sunday or Wednesday). If your child arrives before the classroom teacher, we ask that one parent remain with the child until one of our ministry partners arrives.

We offer classes for all kids – babies through the 6th grade. If your child is preschool age or younger, they will go to the Preschool area, to the left of the Kid’s Ministry Welcome area. If your child is grade K-6th, they will go to the Elementary area, to the right of the Kid’s Ministry Welcome area.

Child safety is taken very seriously at SWBC. All volunteers in the Children’s ministry go through background checks. We also require that parents sign-out their child in their classrooms at pick-up. Also, all outside doors near the Children’s Wing will be locked after the service has begun.
